So if you do a quick search on the BBS over at the Sims2.com, you find there are a number of ways for your precious wee simmies to die.

Of course there are the 'other' ways of committing Simicide, such as the starvation in a doorless room one, or the taking the ladders out of the pool one, or the make em use the energiser when they're not in gold aspiration one. I have always used every single one of those if I had a sim I wanted to quickly knock off. I have never ever waited to let the game play out and see if I could achieve any of the Maxis EP deaths apart from old age.

And then one day I woke up and went .... "Hmmm. What IF I let the little blighters die off naturally? I wonder what that looks like?" Voila - so started my latest Simming mission - to see all the little ways of dying that I haven't yet experienced.

MAXIS made deaths:

* Burning
* Cowplant (Uni)
* Death by Elevator Crash (Open for Business)
* Death by Flies
* Death by Rally Forth! (Open for Business)
* Death by Satellite
* Death by Sunlight (Vampires in NL)
* Disease
* Drowning
* Electrocution
* Freeze to Death (Seasons)
* Heat Stroke (Seasons)
* Hit by Hail (Seasons)
* Hit by Lightning (Seasons)
* Old Age
* Scared to Death
* Spontaneous Combustion (Seasons)
* Starvation

(Thanks to ModTheSims2 for this list, I really recommend their gameplay help section).

So, let's see, at the beginning of my self-imposed challenge, the only death my sims had experienced naturally, was of course, old age.

So I set out to create the situations needed for the little darlings to kick the bucket legitimately.

I have been at it for at least 5 weeks now. So far I have had success with:

* 1 Platinum Old age death. (VERY cool tombstone!) Your sim must be in platinum aspiration at the time they die of old age. I never knew this existed until it happened by accident while I was trying to knock off one of the elder concerned's children.

* 1 Death by burning. To set this up I deliberately stopped placing smoke alarms in my sims houses. Needn't have worried. I managed to kill off poor old Ferdinand's beloved wife Felicity by having her rake up leaves and then set them on fire. Their son, Felix went to her aid in a panic and caught fire too, but not wanting to destroy poor old Ferdinand completely, I had him plead with ole' Grimmie for his son's life, and he won.

* 1 Death by Satellite. This was so cool!!! I had Priya Ramaswami stargaze on the lawn for three nights, and eventually the old Satellite came and landed on her! And the bonus was the cold hard cash that came with the sale of that burning pile of space junk!

* 1 Death by Freezing. I wasn't aiming for this at all, but on one of my home businesses, in winter, one of the customers just hung around and hung around and eventually he froze to death out the back of the house. Pity I missed it! I am aiming for another one just so I can say I've seen it.

* Multiple Deaths by Cowplant. Those nannies are really gullible aren't they? Hehehe I wouldn't like to have a cowplant in a large household though - never know who might be tempted to grab the cake!

TALLY SO FAR: 5/18
And that's it so far. I'm still at it. Will update and post more as I managed to cull the herd with some of the other ways to die. :D

I have never heard of that one. How? :shock:

Burning happens often with me. Mostly kids die. But a toddler was saved by its parent. I really liked that.

Cowplant when I got Uni and found out this could happen, I didn't stop trying. Sadly, the one I had eaten was a Secret Society member. My first one. I was so upset so I didn't save the game.

Death by Sunlight this happened by accident.

Drowning The oldest and most common way so far, agree?

Heat Stroke I tried long and hard for this one, without success. Sad enough that when you aren't trying, it happens. A kid and his dad played catch too long. Bye,bye kid.

Old Age I love this. Age gracefully, die with hula girls.

Starvation I did this just to torture a sim.

I got 7/18.
Although the satellite one might not count for me because I had it in Sims Life Stories, and it was part of the script. I really freaked out though when it happened. First time.

As it's OFB, I remember one of the perks is Rally Forth. I haven't used it myself, so don't know, but figure it must be something to do with that.

He he, I did this once! lets see if I can remember what I got.

* Burning Suprisingly enough, I have never had a sim burn to death yet.....shall have to try harder

* Cowplant (Uni) oh yes.....it ate my legacy founders husband :(

* Death by Elevator Crash (Open for Business) I have never used an elevator in any lot yet :P another thing I shall have to try

* Death by Flies nope....I'm terrible, I just cant let them live in filth

* Death by Rally Forth! (Open for Business) I was working on this one, but I ended up re-installing before I could finish it off, another deathly goal!

* Death by Satellite Yup, 2 in one night! huzzah!

* Death by Sunlight (Vampires in NL) not yet, and only because I have never played vampires

* Disease yup, I had to cheat to do it though, locked him in a room with no comfort objects untill he finally died :twisted:

* Drowning hee hee, yes...goodbye Meadow :twisted: :P

* Electrocution many, many, many electrocutions, no deaths as of yet

* Freeze to Death (Seasons) nope, damn neighbours with the hairdryer :roll:

* Heat Stroke (Seasons) my sims cant even manage to get sunburned :roll: they really are hopeless

* Hit by Hail (Seasons) no deaths from this one, their motives were to high to begin with

* Hit by Lightning (Seasons) several lightening strikes, no deaths to report

* Old Age yup, yup, yup, lots of these :D

* Scared to Death yes 8) they were on the lot with all the ghosts from my experiments :twisted:

* Spontaneous Combustion (Seasons) not yet

* Starvation yup, this was another lock in the room type job 8)

I'm also adding
*Death by Scissors You get this by using the maxis made object "runs with scissors" it increases fun HEAPS but it also kills very easily! I killed so many many sims with this!
aannddd
*The Mysterious Pregnancy Death Only happens when your sim is pregnant, and not hungry, they just die :D I have had that one a few times as well!

Way to go!!! Two satellites in one night!

I have never had the MPD one - heard about it on the boards though.

Forgot the Death By Scissors one - I haven't had the nerve yet! LOL

MY UPDATE:

Tonight I nearly had a whole family burn to death, but I couldn't quite do it to wee little Lloyd, so had the sister beg Grimmie (never thinking she'd win). And so the father lived, the wife managed to extinguish the flames without going up in a puff of smoke herself, and voila, nobody dead.

Next time I'll let the little suckers die. MUAHAHAHAHA! :D

*sigh*

Culling the herd is SO hard!!! Hard as in, I love my wee simmies and can't bear them to die before I've played them out! LOL

I must pull myself together and knock a few of em off to see the other ways to die!

lol blue, why dont you make a hideous family, specifically for the purpose of killing them? and absolutely NO children! that makes it loads harder!
I ran into the same problem your having, I just couldn't do it, so I made a family, who's only goal in life, was to die :evil:

I haven't tried any of them. :p I get to attached to my simmies. If I make them. Although, at uni I did kill one of the SS people with the cowplant just to have a zombie in my game. I may even make my simfelf one for Gravey and my house. :p That way my character, Grim, is actually undead. :) But no special additions to report. The MPD sounds terrible though, if I go through the trouble of making a sim get pregnant, it's safe to assume death isn't in my plans for that sim. So I think I would be very sad. :(

Poor old Jeffrey Broke. :( Poor wee lad froze to death while at Uni trying to upskill. (Freezing is cool - they kind of give a shudder and then just fall over all stiff like a King on a chess board).

Does anyone know why his girlfriend (who he is engaged to- or 'was' as the case now seems to be) has no memory of his death, yet he doesn't show in her relationship panel?

TALLY SO FAR: 5/18 (because I'd already had a frozen one even though I'd missed it).
